Bathroom remodel in North Las Vegas, by neighborhood

A bathroom remodel in North Las Vegas can mean very different houses. The city incorporated on May 1, 1946, and grew beside the wartime gunnery school that became Nellis Air Force Base, so the streets around the old core hold many homes from the 1950s through the 1970s. Pardee started Eldorado around 1990, Aliante opened in 2003, and Century Communities opened its gated Craig Ranch neighborhood in 2020.

In a mid-century bath, we plan for surprises: a steel tub set in mortar, galvanized supply pipe, a small window inside the shower and few GFCI outlets, if any. In Eldorado and Aliante, the bathroom is more often a builder tub with a tile surround, and the work is more about layout and finish than repair.

Water, tile and the slab underneath

North Las Vegas draws most of its tap water from Lake Mead, the same Colorado River supply as the rest of the valley, and the city's water report describes it as hard. White film on glass and gray grout lines are the result. Choices that help: larger tile, so there are fewer joints to stain; grout that is sealed, or epoxy that needs no sealer; and one fixed glass panel in place of a sliding door whose track traps scale.

On a slab floor, moving the drain from the tub to a new shower spot means saw-cutting and trenching the concrete. Keeping the shower in the old tub footprint avoids that and keeps the cost down.

North Las Vegas bathroom remodel costs

Standard bathrooms usually come in at $2,290 to $13,490, and a primary bath with a bigger shower and a double vanity at $8,990 to $26,990. A refresh with a new vanity, toilet, lighting, mirror and paint sits near the bottom. Tearing the shower to the studs, waterproofing it and setting floor-to-ceiling tile sits near the top.

The number also moves with what an old house hides. Rotted subfloor at a toilet, a corroded drain or wiring that needs updating is shown to you in photos and priced as its own line before we continue. For a starting range, text pictures of the bathroom from the doorway and of the tub to (702) 553-1671; the written, itemized price follows a visit.

City permits and keeping the house livable

Inside city limits, the Building Safety Division at 2250 Las Vegas Boulevard North handles permits, and its online portal covers plumbing repair and replacement, re-piping, water heaters and softeners. Relocating drains or valves, re-piping or adding a circuit is done with or by a contractor carrying the needed Nevada license where state law requires it. Parcels just outside the city answer to Clark County.

Old fixtures and debris go out with us each day, and the hallway to the bathroom stays clear and swept so the rest of the house works around the project.

Bathroom remodel in North Las Vegas questions.

  • Typical PrimeFix prices in North Las Vegas: Bathroom remodel, $2,290 to $13,490. Primary bathroom, $8,990 to $26,990. Text a photo of the job and you get a written price with a breakdown before any work starts. Hourly work is $69 to $89 with a one-hour minimum.

  • Most standard bathrooms land at $2,290 to $13,490, and primary baths at $8,990 to $26,990. Tile area, the tub decision, glass and anything found behind the walls decide where yours falls. Every item is listed on the written price.

  • Yes. Every Sun City Aliante plan has two bathrooms, so we schedule the work to keep one usable. A low-entry shower with a seat, grab bars on solid blocking and a comfort-height toilet are typical changes in a 55-plus home.

  • A cast iron or steel tub in good shape can be kept or reglazed, and it is heavy and costly to remove. If the enamel is chipped through or the drain is corroded, replacing it during the remodel is simpler than later.

  • A refresh can take a few days. A full rebuild runs longer because waterproofing, tile and grout each need cure time, and any permit adds inspection visits to the calendar. The sequence comes in writing with the price.
