Drywall repair in Henderson after storms

A lot of drywall repair in Henderson follows water. During monsoon storms in late July 2022, runoff backed up in the Whitney Channel while it was under construction and flooded homes near Whitney Mesa; the city later approved a settlement of more than $3 million. Most leaks are smaller than that: a roof tile cracked by wind, an AC drain line that overflowed, or a supply line under a sink.

Whatever the source, it gets fixed and the area dried before we cut. We check the board and framing with a moisture meter, because paint over damp gypsum blisters and can hide mold. Wet board, wet insulation and swollen baseboard come out; firm, dry board with only a stain stays and gets sealed with a stain-blocking primer.

From 1940s houses to new builds

Henderson's oldest homes, the wood-frame townsite houses from 1941 and 1942, and anything built before the late 1970s deserve a test before sanding. The Consumer Product Safety Commission notes that asbestos was used in joint compound and textured paint until it was banned in 1977, so we ask for a lab sample before we sand old seams or texture.

Newer Henderson houses bring the opposite problem. In Cadence and Inspirada, framing that is still drying out shows up as nail pops in ceilings and hairline cracks at door corners during the first few years. Those get reset with screws, taped where needed, textured and spot-primed, and the fix lasts longer after a full summer and winter have passed.

Henderson drywall repair prices

Small holes up to about 4 inches usually run $79 to $139. Medium damage from 4 to 12 inches is $139 to $249, large sections from 12 to 24 inches are $249 to $409, and a ceiling repair after a leak is $199 to $449. Texture type, ceiling height, the number of coats that must dry, and whether you want the whole wall painted all move the number.

Text a photo with a tape measure or a coin next to the damage to (702) 553-1671, and we can usually place it in a size band. On site, the price is written and itemized before we cut. We hang plastic over doorways when sanding, vacuum the dust, and take the old board with us.

How a patch stops looking like a patch

The board is only half the repair; the blend is the rest. Compound is spread in thin, wide coats so the patch never sits proud of the wall, and the spray pattern is dialed in on scrap before it touches your wall. A coat of primer over the whole repaired area keeps the finish paint from drying duller there than on the rest of the wall.

  • Yes. Once drying is complete and the readings are normal, we replace the cut-out board, tape, texture and prime, and can replace baseboard in the same job. If an insurance adjuster is involved, we itemize the repair so it lines up with the claim.

  • A well-matched texture under fresh paint should disappear at normal viewing distance. Raking light from a west window or a sliding door is the hard test, and on those walls painting the full wall usually beats a spot touch-up.

  • Yes. Ceiling seams under an upstairs bathroom or along a long span are common trouble spots. We bring ladders or a small scaffold for tall rooms, and if a crack follows a stain, we look for the leak above it first.
