Kitchen remodel in Summerlin's older and newer villages
A kitchen remodel in Summerlin usually begins with a kitchen that came with the house. Homes in The Hills and the other early villages date from 1991 on, so many kitchens there are past 30 years and may still have their first cabinets, tile or laminate counters, and a fluorescent box light overhead. Newer villages may already have stone tops and an island, and the goal there is a lighter, more current look.
We start by walking the kitchen with you and measuring every wall, window and soffit. Soffits in older kitchens sometimes hide ducts or plumbing vents, which decides whether the upper cabinets can run to the ceiling. If a soffit does come down, the ceiling is patched and textured before the new uppers go in. Then the plan and cabinet order are written down before anything is torn out.
