A 1951 town between the Strip and Boulder Highway
Winchester began as Town A in 1951, when Clark County split a disputed area into two towns, and took the Winchester name in 1953. It runs from Sahara Avenue south to Desert Inn Road and from the railroad tracks east to Boulder Highway, and it takes in the Sahara, Fontainebleau, Resorts World, Circus Circus and Westgate. A handyman in Winchester works under Clark County rules, even though every address reads Las Vegas.
Our work here is in the residential streets, not the resorts: around the Las Vegas Country Club and east toward Boulder Highway. Those are the houses where age shows most.
