A big town at the foot of Frenchman Mountain
Sunrise Manor sits at the western base of Frenchman Mountain on the east side of the valley. Clark County created it in May 1957 to head off a planned annexation by North Las Vegas, and it has stayed unincorporated ever since. If you are looking for a handyman in Sunrise Manor, you are in one of the biggest communities in Nevada that has no city government.
Its growth explains its houses. Sunrise Manor had 10,886 residents in 1970 and 189,372 in 2010, and the 2020 census counted 205,618. The original town covered only the northern part of today's area, and the Vegas Creek census area to the south was added in 1980. That puts most of the housing between the 1970s and the 2000s.
