The town that kept the Strip out of Las Vegas
Paradise was created on December 8, 1950, when casino executives led by Gus Greenbaum of the Flamingo persuaded the Clark County Commission to make it a town so the City of Las Vegas could not annex the Strip. It is still unincorporated, and with 191,238 residents in 2020 it would be Nevada's fifth-largest city if it were one. If you need a handyman in Paradise, your project falls under Clark County, not the city.
Paradise holds most of the Strip, Harry Reid International Airport and UNLV, but it is also home to a lot of people, with 94,690 housing units counted in 2020.
