A young town at the south end of the valley

Enterprise is where much of the valley's newest housing went up, and a handyman in Enterprise spends more time finishing houses than rescuing them. PrimeFix covers the whole town, from Mountains Edge and Southern Highlands to the Silverado Ranch area, and we take calls 24 hours a day.

Clark County formed Enterprise as an unincorporated town on December 17, 1996, after residents petitioned to keep a semi-rural feel and avoid annexation by Henderson. That feel did not last long. The town had fewer than 15,000 residents in 2000 and about 221,800 by 2020.

What newer houses usually need

Most Enterprise homes were built after 2000, so the walls, wiring and plumbing are usually in good shape. The requests are about making a builder-spec house fit the people living in it: TV mounting with cords hidden in the wall, ceiling fan installation in bedrooms that only have a light, pendant lights over an island, and custom closets that use the full height of the room.

Garages are their own project: shelving, a spot for a second refrigerator, or a washer and dryer installed. A doggie door through a slider or an exterior wall is on the list too; we seal the frame so desert dust stays outside. Las Vegas reached 100°F or more on 112 days in 2024, so any new opening in the house needs to close up tight.

HOA review in the master plans

Large parts of Enterprise sit inside master-planned communities with their own associations. In Mountains Edge, for example, the master association reviews exterior changes only after the neighborhood sub-association approves them. Anything visible outside, such as exterior paint or a new front door, should have approval in hand before we start.

Enterprise is unincorporated, so building permits here go through Clark County rather than any city. If a bathroom or kitchen remodel calls for one, we say so at the start.

Enterprise questions.

  • We work across 89139, 89141, 89178 and 89183. Parts of 89113 and 89123 also reach into Enterprise, but some 89123 addresses near Silverado Ranch sit in Paradise or Henderson instead, so we check the parcel before talking permits.

  • Usually small things: caulk lines that pull away as a new house settles, nail pops in drywall, and doors that start to rub. These are small jobs, and catching caulk early keeps water out of the wall behind a tub.

  • Yes, we can swap builder fixtures, add pendants where a box already exists, or put a fan on a box rated to carry one. Adding new circuits or boxes in a finished ceiling can require a county permit, and we tell you if yours does.

  • The water is the same across the valley: about 17 grains per gallon of hardness, from Colorado River minerals carried into Lake Mead. Spots form when water dries on glass and chrome. Wiping the shower dry helps, and a grout sealer on new tile slows staining.
