Horse ranches, custom homes and 1990s streets
Lone Mountain takes its name from a solitary rocky hill that rises about 560 feet above the surrounding area, ringed by a 3.2-mile trail used by joggers, hikers and horseback riders. The neighborhood runs from Cheyenne Avenue north to Lone Mountain Road, between U.S. 95 and the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. A handyman in Lone Mountain works on a wider range of houses than the master plans nearby.
Spanish Colonial horse ranches sit near custom mini-estates and a hillside group of three-story, mid-century modern revival homes, while most of ZIP 89129 is made up of houses built in the 1990s and 2000s. New construction is still going up along the western foothills.
