A master plan that started, stalled and restarted
The land under Inspirada was part of a parcel of about 1,940 acres sold at a Bureau of Land Management auction in 2004 for $557 million, to a group of builders led by Focus Property Group. KB Home built the first house in 2007. After the housing crash, lenders filed an involuntary bankruptcy petition against the developers in December 2010. If you are hiring a handyman in Inspirada, that stop-and-start history is why the community holds both late-2000s houses and much newer ones.
The city's master plan map lists Inspirada at about 1,600 acres, plus a separate 353-acre Inspirada Town Center. The Inspirada Community Association is based at 2000 Via Firenze, and its facilities include parks, pools and the Solista Community Center.
